Railroad Square

Saturday morning I made plans with Mallory to take some new pictures of the girls.  (Mallory is the one that took last years pumpkin patch pics, she's married to David's cousin Nick, and she's pretty great...)  :)  She was gracious enough to give up her weekend morning, thank you Mal!  She suggested going to Railroad Square so we gave it a try and the bright backgrounds made for some great shots!  For the first 5 minutes Kinley's hair was dry, after that it was soaked through with sweat.  Despite the heat the girls had a blast walking around and seeing everything.

After deleting as many as I could handle (it's so hard to delete pictures, even if their eyes are closed I still feel like I may want to see it one day when they're all grown up) I still had 435 pictures!  I know...way too many.  I uploaded them to Shutterfly with the lowest resolution so it wouldn't take all day.  Any family members that would like to print one, just let me know and I'll email you the full sized file.  :)  Heads up - a lot of the pictures look the same, Mal's camera snaps FAST and again, I couldn't delete any.  Enjoy!!

Boating for Memorial Day

We spent Memorial Day weekend with my parents on their boat.  They're cruising up the east coast and we met them near Jacksonville in a small town called St. Mary's.  It was beautiful and quiet, the perfect way to spend 4 days!  We saw porpoises (Avery called them 'whales') several times a day, and they were very comfortable coming close to the boat.  We visited Cumberland Island twice and actually saw the wild horses from our boat.  Avery's highlight was finding shells and throwing them in the water.  We really enjoyed the time with my parents and look forward to doing it again!!

An attempt to get a picture of my mom with the girls:

Thanks mom and dad for inviting us to your new home, it was great!

Matching Eyebrows

What were you doing last night at 8pm?  Gearing up for the season finale of your favorite show?  Me too.  We were finishing up dinner when I heard a loud bang in Kinley's room followed by Kinley screaming.  I went running in and found her face down on the fallen-over rocking chair.  After picking her up I knew we'd be making a trip to the ER to get some stitches or glue.  The doctor chose glue so it'd be less traumatic (yeah right).  Well in a few years we'll be able to compare the scars on her eyebrows and tell you which is more effective.  Poor girl.

Happy Mother's Day

Hope all you moms out there had a great Mother's Day!!
The weather in Tallahassee is perfect today, so we spent the day on Gigi's back porch.

Avery was waiting for Maverick to come inside for his treat.
Kinley (aka shag - the barrette helps, shame she won't keep it in her hair) played on the rocking chairs.

And Avery made 'snow angels' on the porch floor...not sure...

And a special 'we love you' to Ami, Gigi, and Grama.

Pics

Sometimes I think about posting on here and it's daunting to have to think of something to say.  My thoughts are so preoccupied I can hardly form a few interesting sentences.  But then I remember that most of you just want to see pictures.  You want to see the girls.  That's easy enough!  So here are some recent pictures:

Kinley loves babies, and she gives them the sweetest kisses.

Yesterday, after bath, I went to the kitchen and here's what I found:

thankfully they wouldn't really write on the leather.

We planted our garden a few weeks ago.  It's mostly full of herbs but we did plant some tomatoes and peppers.  And the blueberries and strawberries are growing again.

Unfortunately I can't seem to beat the squirrels to the strawberries, and I can't tell you how mad this makes me.  Here are 4 beautiful strawberries, half eaten.  UGH!

This morning the girls and I walked to the neighborhood playground.  We're really enjoying the warmer weather!

2 Months later...

Wow, I don't know if I've ever actually been absent for 2 months!  I know life gets busy and I disappear for awhile, but there's no excuse for 2 months!  Forgive me.

My camera is getting old and has been acting up.  Regardless, I have a few pictures I can share.  Here's what we've been up to:

We've been fighting off lots of colds, which cause us to fall asleep at random times in random places, usually mid-play.

Avery is very curious about work.  She frequently asks David what he does at the office.  When I'm working she'll stand next to me and 'work' on her stickers.

Kinley has the cutest little scowl I've ever seen!  She's a very serious baby and you have to work to get a smile out of her.  She's very happy, just serious.

Then she'll smile and melt my heart.

As Kinley is getting older, the girls play together a lot more.  I love when they're sweet and talk to each other - Avery acts like she can understand what Kinley is saying.  Of course we have our moments when one decides to pick a fight...but that's just what sisters do, right?

Kinley's walking like a pro now - she can even eat and walk at the same time.  Skill.

And she has figured out how to open the dvd player.  She loves to stack the dvd's and try to close it.  This is a big no-no...but I had to snap a picture before reminding her it's not ok.  You might not be able to tell in the picture, but it's about 7 dvd's thick.

That's all the pictures I have for now.  I'll try to get a couple videos for you out-of-towners.  Love you all!
