funny

I have to share this series of pictures because they crack me up!
Sunday night we celebrated Christmas with David's dad and Becky.  Before we opened presents I wanted to get a picture of the girls in front of the tree.  I took two and then Heidi laughed and said "look at Kinley".  So Avery looked and decided she'd like to be laughed at too.  And that was it for the pictures, I couldn't get her to sit up and be normal again...
she actually did a pretty good impression I think.

HAPPY 26TH DAVID!

Have you ever seen how hott my husband is?!  Yeah...I know...!  Especially when he loves on my two girls like this:

We couldn't ask for a better man.  Happy Birthday David!!

Avery's First Haircut

Yesterday we took Avery to get her first haircut!  I didn't think she really needed one, but David insisted it was time...I guess it had been 3 years.  I'll admit, it does look a lot healthier.  BUT Mr. Matt needed to be sure it was an even cut so he STRAIGHTENED her hair!  I wasn't sure how I felt about that...I walked in with a wispy three year old and left with a styled teenager - enough to bring tears to a momma's eyes.  I did good, oh and so did Avery.  ;)  No one cried, except for when we got in the car and Avery whined about needed to go back in and get another hair cut.

She kept saying she was 'helping' Mr. Matt by holding the clips.  No matter where the clip was, she had a hand on it.

She was SO excited, and kept running her fingers through it.

This video cracks me up!  We just told her we were going to Red Elephant to celebrate her first haircut, so that's what she's talking about at first.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KINLEY!

We love you sweet girl!

After dinner we opened a few presents.  The first was the Busy Ball Popper from Aunt Nancy, and Kinley loved it!

It wasn't long before Avery took over and ran Kinley off.  Fortunately Kinley was a good sport and happy to open another box.

Next she opened Aunt Bonnie's present - an Elmo phone.  She knew exactly what to do with it:

Last she opened her present from Ami and Cap, which kept her busy for awhile.  :)

Thank you all!!!
I can't believe my baby is one...

Christmas Program

This morning was Avery's preschool Christmas program.  It was exactly as I expected - some kids were the star of the show, some were crying on stage, others were just sitting there like a deer in headlights, some were in their own little world, and others had their eyes glued to their parents.  That was Avery.  She didn't have a care in the world, just kept her eyes on us and sang her heart out.  It was adorable.  And if I looked away she'd start waving or stand up to get my attention back on her.  Gotta love her!  She exaggerated every word, both the ones she knew and the ones she didn't.  Enjoy:

Kinley relaxed in her stroller during the show.

And when the music cranked up, she'd join in the singing.  Which is basically her yelling at the top of her lungs.  I don't remember Avery singing this young, but Kinley breaks out into E-I-E-I-O pretty frequently...I need to get a video of that!

After the performance we went to the classroom and had cupcakes for Jesus' birthday.

I was sent home with two adorable crafts Avery made earlier in the week.  Thank you to the awesome moms who made this happen!

Halloween

The whole gang - Brady, Avery, Kinley, and Keller

One of our first stops. Avery still didn't have the hang of it, and the guy really had to work to get the candy in Avery's pumpkin.

Avery and Keller on the back of the golf cart.  Thank goodness we had one, Southwood is very spread out and we would have been walking all night.  Plus it was a blast for the kids!  :)

Pumpkin Patch #1

Last Saturday I took the girls to the pumpkin patch with Aunt Holly and Mallory.  Mallory has a very nice camera, a great eye, and a love for taking pictures.  So who am I to stop her?  ;)   She graciously offered to meet us there and snap some pictures of the girls.

Last night we picked up 2 FULL cd's that Mallory burned for us!  I was only able to download one (the other isn't compatible with my Apple for some reason), so here's the first set of pumpkin patch pictures.  The second set will follow shortly I hope!

Birthday cont...

On Avery's birthday I took her to Target to 'trade' the gift card Aunt Bonnie sent her with a toy of her choosing.  Avery picked out a tub of animals and a Strawberry Shortcake video.  Thank you Aunt Bonnie!!

That night Grandma came over to open presents and have dinner with us.  First we opened Avery's present from Aunt Nancy, a soccer goal & ball for the backyard.  Thanks Aunt Nancy, Avery LOVES it!  :)

Then she got to open her present from Papa and Grandma - My Littlest Pet Shop!  There's one in her classroom and her teacher told me how much all the kids enjoy playing with it.  She was right!  Grandma also brought the little treat pictured above, and making her wait until after dinner was torture.  Thanks Papa and Grandma!

Then her present from my parents, a Little Tikes basketball hoop.  We finally tore her away from it for bed time, and not a moment sooner!  Thanks Ami and Cap!

On Saturday, family came over and we celebrated yet again!  Avery's birthday really lasted all week.  Gigi, John, Gran, and Grandy got Avery her very own sandbox.  Another thing she has at school and loves.  :)  Holly, Josh, Heidi, and Keith went together to get Avery a tree swing for out back.  It took two days to get it successfully hung in the very tall tree, but it was worth it!  Thank you all!!!

Celebrating

I had plans to throw Avery a big party this year!  Well one thing didn't lead to another and there was no big party.  So at the very last minute I invited some friends to the playground to have cupcakes.  Due to rainy weather, the playground ended up being at Chick-fil-a.  I'm sure they loved hosting us...3 year olds and chocolate cupcakes...you can imagine the restaurant when we left.  ;)

Avery and Adriana

Gigi gave Avery some pom poms so she can join the cheerleaders at Uncle Taylor's football games.

Then this morning at school we had another party.  Avery couldn't believe she was having 2 birthday's (she thought yesterday was her birthday too)!  She got to wear a birthday hat all morning, and I brought in cupcakes and a balloon.  The balloon was a hit!!  Daddy and Uncle Taylor (who's interning with David) came over from work and Keller stopped in before going to his class to share in the fun!

This is right after devotion time where ALL the kids sang to her and the teacher prayed for her. I didn't get to my camera fast enough, but she was so happy when she looked in the back of the room and Kinley and I were standing there.

The balloon that distracted the class all day.

She was a sweet big sister and was so proud to have Kinley sharing her desk.

Reading time before cupcakes.

Keller digging in!  Notice Avery is almost done...

Still more to come...
after naps.
