We're Still Alive

I was talking to my mom on the phone this morning and it came up how long its been since I've posted anything on the blog.  So I decided to let everyone know we're still alive.  I'm actually surprised my last post was May 5th, I honestly feel like its been even longer than that!  The month of May has been busy, but great!

I went to my pictures to see where I left off, and the next set of pics (after "Launch the Baby") was Avery showing us her new skill: organizing!!!  Ok, so it's not really organized, but I'm just excited that she's moving in that direction.  Her favorite thing to do is make piles, preferable on someone.  For instance:

This was her removing everything from her toy box and stacking it on David.  If no one is available, then she'll gladly put it on the chair, or coffee table, or even neatly on the floor.  But where ever it goes, she is always proud of her mound.  The trick is getting her to put it back...

Mid-month Avery came down with a little cold, mostly just congestion and coughing.  So I ran to the store and found this:
Which led to my next set of pictures:

And a very happy Avery!

Giving it a taste.

"Toot-Toot"

Skylla enjoyed the bubbles too.  And by the end of the bath, she wasn't congested anymore!  (well, for a little while at least)  I've even used it once, I love it!

May 16th we headed to St. Augustine for a Cook Family Camping Trip.  I knew Avery would love being outside all day, but I wasn't sure how the sleeping would go.  Our friends, Nate and Joy Schuck, let us borrow their huge 3-room tent (thanks again guys!).  So Avery had her own room with her playpen to sleep in, and she slept like a champ!  All the outside noises didn't bother her one bit.  Saturday we went to the beach and I think that was the highlight of Avery's trip.  She LOVED the sand and the waves and the birds, pretty much everything about it.  The weekend was too short, we packed up Sunday afternoon and headed home.  But it was great to see my parents and brother and sister-in-law, we missed them so much!  Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

We headed back the beach for Memorial Day, but this time with David's family.  Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures (but I know who did so I'll try to steal some).  ;)  That just about catches us up, hopefully it won't be another 3 weeks before I post again!

"Launch the Baby"

Here's a great video of David launching Avery into the air on our Sumo chair.  The first time was an accident, he was just going to sit down with her, but she loved it so much he started doing it repeatedly.  I grabbed the camera so I could include you in the fun:

House Update

After a very frustrating and tiring 2 weeks, David and I decided to throw in the towel.  We ended up extending the contract to May 2nd in hopes that things would resolve, but they didn't.  Last Thursday night we spent a good bit of time discussing whether or not to extend it one more time.  In the end, we both were emotionally drained and no longer excited about the house.  It's a shame we had to let the house go, but we have a peace about the decision.  We know that other homes will surface when the time is right, and we are blessed with a great home in the meantime!

So this is still our home sweet home  :)
