I happened upon this video/article while killing time on lilsugar.com. With Avery nearing 2, potty training is quickly approaching. It's a topic that enters conversation every time I get together with my friends; it'll be new for all of us. Just like being pregnant and giving birth, I'm sure it'll be a lot easier once we've done it once. Since I don't know what to expect, I've been reading up on the topic. It seems like every thing I read has different views on when to start, how to approach it, how long it should take, etc. So when I came across this material I watched, and found it to be pretty interesting. Just one more view...
Excerpt from Lilsugar:
Wendy Sweeney, a registered nurse and mother of six, created a one-day potty training program called Booty Camp. Based on Nathan H. Azrin’s book Toilet Training in Less Than a Day, her program goes on the belief that the tot is ultimately responsible for potty training, and must clean up after herself if there is an accident. According to Sweeney, if you ask the child if she has to go to the bathroom, you are in charge of her body, and that is a big no, no.
Interesting. I still don't know what approach I'll take, but I think it's a great idea to have the kid more involved in the process...what do you think?

Thats definitely interesting. I guess if their not potty trained by 2 1/2 this is one thing to consider. I couldn't imagine making Gabe clean up his mess (this kind of mess anyways LOL)but I have heard of something similar to this that seems to work so I don't know.
well, I couldn't get the video to work, so I don't know exactly what her method is...but I read through her website and everything - she has outrageous prices, but besides that, I'm not sure...lol. I don't think I'll use this method, but as to what method I'll use, I don't know yet.... It's definitely interesting, but it just seems like there are so many different ways out there. Each child is different too, so it's hard to say which method is the best.... thanks for posting this! I definitely need to read up on it some more...
Your dad really enjoyed the "jar of M&M's on the top of the potty for good little boys and girls" method.
I can't believe how different she looks in the pictures either... if she had been older I really think she would have broken her nose - I'm thinking it's still mostly cartilage, so it was just really swollen. I know, I do need to move that basket! I really just need to clean the whole room and put a lot of her baby things away - I put big stuffed animals along the top of the basket so that it might help a little... she hasn't jumped out of her crib since Sunday, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed..
oh, my mom found our receipt from The New Image in Thomasville and the ballet shoes are called Saugus and the number is 3575...this is the only picture I can find of them and it's a really bad one...

they're just a basic shoe though. they're a little cheaper at the store in thomasville ($22) and you don't have to pay for it to be shipped to the store.
